Mobile Ticketing System for Suburban Tickets - Updated on 20.8.2015

Step 1 - Download Free Mobile Application for Android and Windows based phones from Play Store and Windows Store respectively. Soon will be available for iPhone & BlackBerry.

Registration

Step 2 - Open the application and Sign Up
Step 3 - Enter Mobile Number, Name, Select City (Mumbai or Chennai) and Press Generate OTP. Enter OTP received through SMS to proceed further.
Step 4 & 5  - Press Done
Step 6  - Press Skip. R-Wallet with “0” balance is created


Recharging R-Wallet

Step 7 – Recharging of R-wallet is available at booking counters & on internet through https://utsonmobile.indianrail.gov.in
Step 8 – Login with mobile number and password/pin. Recharge your R-wallet – Minimum recharge Rs.100/- Maximum Rs.5000/-

Booking of Tickets

Step 9 - Now Login with mobile number and password/pin
Step 10 – Select Normal Booking
Step 11 – Select Source Station, Select Destination Station and Press Done. 
Step 12 –  Select number of tickets (Second Class maximum 4 and First Class maximum 1); Ticket Type (journey or return); Class (Second or First) Payment Type (R-Wallet is default) and Press Get Fare. Save Unique Booking ID in Frequent Travel Information. User will get SMS with Unique Booking ID.

Printing of Tickets

Step 13 – At the journey originating station go to ATVM and select Print Mobile Ticket
Step 14 – Enter your Mobile Number and Booking ID. Your ticket will be printed.

Paperless Tickets
Presently paperless ticket system is available in Chennai and Mumbai (only Western Railway). As per latest reports, it is likely to be introduced on Central Railway by September 2015.  
On Step 12, after "Press Get Fare" your ticket will be saved and you can show this whenever asked during the journey.

Cancellation of Tickets

Cancellation can be done as per rules through Mobile if ticket is not printed. Refund will be credited to R-Wallet.  If the ticket is printed, the ticket can be cancelled at UTS counters only.

Booking Restrictions
Paperless Ticket restricts the user in booking tickets within 15 meters of either side of the railway station. For more details log on to http://www.indianrail.gov.in/MobileTicketing.html
